I have always been intrigued by caring for children. Teaching an array of important life skills such as safety awareness, how to recognize letter sounds, and swimming are all very important to me. I enjoy caring for older and younger children and have extensive experience with both. I have taught preschool for four years and am employed part time at a Charleston preschool. I have instructed swim lessons for all ages, preschool through adults at the YMCA. However, I mainly had preschool students and up to age twelve. I really enjoyed seeing my students improve their water skills and gain confidence.I was a nanny for a family with a middle schooler and high schooler. Both of the children had ADHD and were very close. I administered their medicines as prescribed by their pediatrician. The son also had dyslexia and he ran cross country that I picked him up from. I encouraged the siblings to take breaks while studying. I did flashcards with the daughter and gave suggestions to maintain organization. By lending an understanding and listening ear when asking about their school days, I encouraged focusing staying positive and kind.I helped the daughter improve her back float and swim freestyle with more stamina. With my help, she passed the YMCA swim test which is to swim the length of the pool (any stroke but with side breathing if it is freestyle) and tread water for a minute. I also instructed driving to the son in their mother's suburban. I completed light house work and vacuumed. I have provided carpooling with my car and a Mother's suburban for four families to school and home from school, as well as after school activities. I was a special needs care provider and nanny as well for a nine year old with three siblings who were home schooled. I helped him bond with his younger brothers by playing games inside and jumping on the trampoline. I assisted in giving physical therapy in his home, as prescribed by his physical therapist. I gave him aromatherapy for memory and therapeutic horsebackriding for muscle strength and self confidence. By doing so, I gained more of a compassionate perspective when working with children. I am very considerate and an empathetic listener. I ensure that children in my care have a very high quality of care and I let them know they are unique and appreciated. I am open to being a nanny or babysitter to children of all ages and with many different special circumstances. I love all infants and toddlers, they are my favorite! I enjoy seeing infants reach their many milestones such as, holding their head up for tummy time, grasping, turning pages, and sitting up when they are ready. I have three years of experience as an infant teacher, and two years experience as a two and up to age three teacher. I watched one amazing four year old on Wyndy. I played a Stem game with him by following a chart to make a design. We also played Uno. I took him to the hotel pool where they were staying to play and practice floating. His Mom and Dad were happy to see him after their date night out.
