Hello! I recently graduated UTC with my bachelors in psychology and am looking to babysit in my spare time before I move states for my masters program! My minor is in sociology but I do have a few adolescent development and early child development courses under my belt! I like to incorporate the knowledge I have from these courses through age-appropriate activities that foster creativity and development! Play is incredibly important for many aspects of development! While not with children, I do have experience in coordinating recreational activities: this was for two groups of dementia patients within an assisted living community. I will state up front I have no formal professional experience with children, however my older sister has three kids (8, 12, and 18) that I have grown up alongside and had a decent hand in caring for.Out of personal preference and comfort, I will not sit for children under 18 months old. I am pet friendly! I have fur babies of my own and am very experienced with any additional pet care that may come along with a job. Prior to starting a job, I have standard questions I will ask you so that I can get a thorough understanding of expectations, boundaries, and just so that we’re both on the same page in general! Hi i’m Arie. Im a senior attending the University Of Memphis studying biology. I have 3 younger siblings (current ages being 10, 7, and 2) and have grown up taking care of them, as well as having consistent babysitting jobs. My siblings live a homeschool life style so I get to spend tons of time with them. Having so much experience with them, I have witnessed how much joy and enrichment less screens and more interaction can bring to a family. I feel that I am able to relate to children in a more personal way due to having much younger siblings, and am excited to bring that energy to your family as well! I enjoy interacting with kids and letting them embrace their creative side. I don’t leave it up to kids to entertain themselves, I like doing things with them and creating personal relationships. I’m all there for hands on activities, puzzles, drawings, spending time in nature, etc. I like to have quality time with kids, with engaged playing as opposed to just over watching. I take the time to build a trusting relationship with kids through intentional interaction, and being a role model for them.
