Hi! I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Mississippi. I’m looking for work to help pay for my tuition. I’ve been a babysitter since I was 13 and before that I volunteered as a mommy’s helper. To gain experience and because I love kids, I would go over to the family’s home while the parents were there and play with the kids.This allowed the parents to get things done around the house. While I was living overseas for six years, I babysat for countless families on weekends, after school, and during school breaks. I’ve babysat for newborns, toddlers, as well as, kids in grade school. I like being active with the kids while I babysit, not just letting them play on their electronics. I believe the key to babysitting is for the kids to feel seen and heard. I don’t think they should view the time we spend together as me doing a job but rather me genuinely wanting to spend time with them. I also highly value meeting the parents before I meet the kids. Hi! My name is Ashley, and I have been a nanny since I was 15! I am 19 years old and have always known I wanted to work with children. I'm so excited that I found nannying, and truly believe this is my calling. I've received multiple childcare certifications from The Nanny Institute, am CPR and first aid certified, am a CPST, and I am currently earning my Early Childhood Education degree from NEMCC. I have also been a student teacher in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classes. Over this past summer , I worked in a preschool as a 3 year old teacher, and I also worked in a daycare center part time with all ages (infant-10 years old). I currently live in Booneville, MS, but I go home to Madison, AL most weekends and during school breaks so I will apply to jobs near both cities!

I like working with kids because they're funny and curious and they can teach us so much about being kind, patient and loving. I started working with kids when I was 12 years old. I've worked in pediatrics as a speech language pathologist for the last 4 years but am currently taking a break from my field. In my spare time, I like to read books, hangout with friends and family (especially my two nephews), and hangout with my dog, Lu!
