I currently hold a position as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) with a focus in early intervention for children in the age range of 2-12 years. However, my experience working with children does not start there, I have over 10 years experience working with children. I was born and raised in KY, and have been a part of the Midsouth community for about 11 years, I am a mother of a pre-teen and a fur mom to 3 cats. I graduated from the University of Memphis, my studies comprised of Music, Education & psychology. I will be continuing my studies with the pursuit of becoming a Board Certified Music Therapist starting in August of 2023 at the University of Memphis with a field emphasis in Neuro Music Therapy. In my free time I usually play the ukulele, spend time with my family, and spend countless hours singing. Hello! I am a current special education teacher at a local elementary school. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2019 with my degree and licensure in K-12 special education. In the Fall I am returning to school to pursue a graduate degree in educational leadership. I grew up in a big family (I have a set of triplet sisters and a brother and sister who are twins) and I have always had a passion to work with children that’s why I want to become an elementary school teacher or a special education teacher. I have babysat for my sister a lot who has a 6 year old, a 4 year old, and a 1 year old, so I am comfortable handling multiple kids at a time. I have done many babysitting jobs in my hometown, and would like to do more here at school. I have church daycare experience and have worked VBS. I have also had the opportunity of helping out at Glenwood which is a non profit for early intervention of young children with autism or behavioral problems and adults with autism. During the school year, I teach high schoolers. I also have experience babysitting infants to 10 year olds. I was a lifeguard and swim instructor for a summer where I taught various age groups how to swim. I have also volunteered to watch children while their parents were at adult bible study, I have given tutoring lessons, coached sports, and I have given flute lessons.
