About the Family:

A wonderful family in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a part-time, loving, nanny to assist with their two older precious and joyful children, who are 2 and 5 years old, while mom focuses on a new baby arriving in May. The family follows a Montessori-based approach and is seeking someone who can provide engaging, child-led learning. The position will provide daytime support and may extend from 6 months to a long-term role through 2025 or beyond. Flexibility is key, as they are looking for someone who can adjust as their needs evolve, but the family is also able to provide great flexibility to work with the nanny's schedule.

Responsibilities:

Care for a 2-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son who attends preschool until 3pm

Help with light housekeeping, including dishes, tidying up, and maintaining a clean environment after the kids

Pick up son from preschool (may not start immediately, but will be ideal eventually). Car seats provided.

Be hands on, involved, and engaging with the kids, keeping them occupied and entertained while mom cares for newborn

Be proactive in completing tasks and helping around the house as needed

Provide temporary relief of infant duties for mom while she rests.

Qualifications:

Must have a clean driving record (required)

Trustworthy, responsible, and able to engage with children in a positive, phone-free manner

Must be flexible with scheduling, able to increase hours beginning in May

Previous experience with children and a solid understanding of child development is a plus

Available for a long-term commitment (minimum end of July, ideally through 2025)

Additional Information:

Rate: $18/hour

Minimum hours per week: 10-15 in April, 15-25 in May

Ideal schedule: MWF 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm to start, with the possibility of increasing days and hours as needed
