About Emily

Hi there! My name is Emily and I'm a 26-year-old first grade teacher living in Jersey City. From the age of 8, I've known without a doubt that teaching was what I wanted to do when I grew up. There's nothing more rewarding to me than nurturing kids' curiosity and love of learning! In the classroom, I strive to create an engaging, supportive environment where all my students feel empowered to explore, ask questions, and reach their full potential. My patience, creativity and knack for making lessons fun go a long way in fostering their academic and social growth. Even outside of school, working with children brings me joy. I started babysitting in high school and have extensive experience caring for kids of all ages through babysitting gigs, coaching youth sports teams, and working summer camps. Keeping children safe, happy, and actively engaged is always my top priority. When I'm not teaching or babysitting, you can usually find me exploring new restaurants with friends or trying a new recipe at home!
