About Sydney

Hi there! My name is Sydney and I’m so excited to work with you and your family! Working with children and developing long lasting relationships with families is a huge passion of mine. With that, I have an extensive list of childcare experience that includes several years of babysitting, nannying, and working in leadership at a local school system’s before and after care program. From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with children. My sister always shares stories from when we were younger where I would “convince” her to play school and have her be my student! It wasn’t until high school that I truly started to develop a passion for working with children through babysitting, working in my church’s children’s rooms and summer camps, and starting out as a student worker at my local elementary school. After graduating high school, I went to Middle Tennessee State University to attend their highly ranked education program. This is where I obtained my degree in Elementary Education and further developed both my love for working with children and my knowledge for helping them grow! Throughout my high school and college years, I worked as a babysitter and nanny for many amazing local families, many of whom I still hold close relationships with. I now work as elementary school teacher and absolutely adore this! When I am not teaching, I love working with families to provide one on one care for their children and be in assistance in anyway I can. Additionally, I am a certified firefighter! In my free time, I work with my local volunteer fire department, where I also hold an EMR medical license. Because of this, I have extensive, first hand experience on how to act in any type of emergency that may occur - so much so that I developed a passion for teaching this as well! In fact, it was a medical call that I responded to, through my fire department, that inspired me to become a CPR instructor. I work closely with the American Heart Association to educate and certify others in CPR/First Aid skills so that they too can be prepared to act in case of an emergency. Even with the other varying entities that I am now involved in, my heart always comes back to working with families, one on one. I cannot wait to connect with you and work with your family!
