About Raija

Hi there! I am a kind, energetic, and creative person who loves working with kids. I have experience as a substitute teacher working with kids K-8th. This position has involved leading the class in lessons, coming up with craft ideas for them, working with kids one on one, problem solving, and learning how to manage a classroom. During my time as a substitute, I have also worked specifically in SPED classrooms and have worked as a shadow for kids with disabilities. I have also babysat for numerous friends and family members over the years. In both my role as a substitute teacher and in my babysitting experience, I always make sure to actively engage with the kids, whether that means playing make believe with them, coming up with a craft project, reading to them, etc. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and have taken a course on human growth and development, which included a lot of focus on the milestones and challenges of early and middle childhood. In addition to childcare, I am happy to help with housework, pet care, meal prep, and running errands.
