About Melissa

I am the proud parent of 3 wonderful young adults and was a middle/high school teacher for 15 years. Before that I was a Camp Director for 7 years at an Easter Seals Camp for children and adults with disabilities. I stopped teaching to care for an elderly parent and decided to retire very early. I currently volunteer at the Halifax Humane Society and Ormond Main Street but really miss the interaction with children. I am very energetic but serious about safety. I absolutely love having conversations with little ones or seeing the development of babies! I have a graduate degree in Education and am going back to school for a Masters in social work.
