Hey there! My name is Oriana. I'm an experienced, nurturing, and dependable babysitter with a passion for providing a comforting and welcoming environment for children. I come from a diverse background and am fluent in English and Spanish. Family means everything to me, that's why I'm so passionate about babysitting because it allows me the opportunity to make a positive impact in children’s lives and contribute to their well-being. It also contributes to my own personal growth as learning from and caring for others can surprisingly help us understand and care for ourselves better. I hold a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in English. This has helped me recognize the importance of child development stages, including emotional and social learning. I strive to create a compassionate and supportive atmosphere, allowing children the space to feel comfortable sharing their emotions and needs. I aim to foster their growth as individuals, helping them navigate the ups and downs of everyday life with resilience and confidence. With a creative and imaginative mindset, I love engaging kids in educational and entertaining activities such as arts and crafts, reading, storytelling, movement and dance, imaginative play, and helping make homework time an enjoyable and stimulating experience. I am patient, adaptable, and adept at handling various situations that may arise when caring for children. Safety is always my top priority which is why I will be renewing my Adult and Pediatric First AID/CPR certification this month. I emphasize building strong relationships with both children and parents as I believe open and clear communication are key in building trust. I recognize and celebrate the individuality of every child. I take the time to understand the child’s personality, interests, and preferences in order to provide personalized care and support. I have experience working with children of various ages and temperaments, which has taught me the importance of tailoring my approach to suit each child’s needs. I also pay close attention to parents’ instructions and guidelines; making sure to understand their expectations regarding things like meal prep, bedtime routines, screen time and any specific rules they’ve set.
