About Amber

Hi!! My name is Amber and I’m from Dothan, AL. I am currently working towards my PhD in Cancer Biology at UAB. I graduated from Troy University with my bachelors degree in biomedical sciences in May of 2022 and moved to Birmingham shortly after. I got married in December to my high school sweetheart and he is starting dental school in July! I have been babysitting since I was 15. I have experience with all age groups, from newborn to 12 years. I cherish the reward of helping parents and families be the happiest and most efficient versions of themselves. I love animals and have 2 Frenchies of my own!! I like to read and knit in my free time, and I also love volunteering with the Miracle League in Dothan when I’m home! :-)

I babysat long-term for 3 different families before I graduated from Troy. It is absolutely a gift to make relationships with families and kids. I consider myself to be kind, compassionate, and patient, and it was so difficult to leave my previous employers, who really became more like friends.

On-Campus Activity

I am currently working towards my degree in Dr. Benjamin Larimer’s lab, studying novel protein targets to increase the efficacy of cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics. I have a deep passion for helping people, and it has always been a dream of mine to help give people their loved ones back. For the most part, this makes my schedule extremely flexible.
